This overview of the exhaustion requirement outlines its main features as detailed in jurisprudence under the other major human rights treaties, which all incorporate the exhaustion rule, and in the communications decided by the CEDAW Committee as of November 2007.

This publication analyses the first ten cases the CEDAW Committee has decided under the Optional Protocol to the Convention. As can be surmised from reading the practice of the CEDAW Committee in using its powers under the individual communications procedure of the Optional Protocol is still a cautious and limited exercise.

Newsletters: Play Fair in sporting goods production
KARAT regularly published a newsletter within the project: “FairPlay in sporting goods production”. It contained a variety of articles related to the working conditions in garment industry as well as social responsibility of companies and consumers.
Magazines: Fair Play by WAD
“FairPlay – Empowering Women in Changing Societies” was KARAT magazine published in English by Bulgarian organization Women’s Alliance for Development (WAD) – a KARAT’s member. It was a regional magazine on women’s rights and situation of women in Central and Eastern Europe. In total 9 issues were published in years 2000 -2005. Every issue covers a different topic.
