This publication is a Russian translation of IWRAW Asia-Pacific resource  issued in 2009. The translation was made by KARAT within its project “Regional Coalition on CEDAW & Access to justice”.

It analyses the first ten cases the CEDAW Committee has decided under the Optional Protocol to the Convention. As can be surmised from reading the practice of the CEDAW Committee in using its powers under the individual communications procedure of the Optional Protocol is still a cautious and limited exercise.
